Clos Manou Petit Manou Medoc 2019
The Petit is blended from around 40% Cabernet Sauvignon and a similar amount of Merlot (a portion of which dates from the 1850s) and the rest old vine Cabernet Franc and an ancient clone of Petit Verdot; its a gorgeously glossy red whose glorious fruit makes it a wine to enjoy now. We loved the snapped pencil graphite notes that swirl around the wines core of crushed blackberry, espresso and wet earth notes. Is that a hint of violet, too? Rich and full on the palate, theres enough heft to allow it to cellar an additional four or five years, but this is an immediate gratification special.one of those Bordeaux you can pop and pour to your hearts content alongside steaks from the grill, roasts from the oven or even a great hamburger! Very highly recommended and a very fine value.
VINEYARDS & VITICULTURE
Grapes harvested from Saint-Christoly de Mdoc & Couquques planted to 9,000 to 10,000 vines/ha. The soil is worked by plow and the rows have grass in the middle. only organic amendments and reasoned phytosanitary treatments.

HARVEST & VINIFICATION
Hand harvest from September 23 to October 14. About one kg of grapes per vine (six to eight bunches/vine), and yields of approx. 55 hl /ha. Grapes sorted twice, before and after destemming, on vibrating sorting table and vatting by peristaltic pump. The temperature of each tank is then reduced to 10 for 48 to 72 hours, pumping over, pressing in vertical press. Malolactic fermentation in vats for 5 months. The must is entirely matured in French oak (50% one-year-old, 50% two-year old) for 12 months. No fining.
